Our History: 

In 2020, Lubbock Christian University launched its Esports Athletic program, quickly becoming a key part of campus life. In 2022, Coach Brandon Hackett took the helm, guiding the team to multiple achievements. Under his leadership, LCU Esports has earned several prestigious accolades, cementing its place in competitive esports.

Driven by the mission to glorify God, LCU Esports provides an environment for students to excel both on and off the virtual field. We look forward to continued growth and the lasting impact this program will have on the LCU community.

Brandon Hackett

Esports Head Coach

Hackett was announced as the second esports head coach in program history in June 2022. A native of Abernathy, Texas, Hackett graduated with a General Business degree at Lubbock Christian University (Magna Cum Laude) and also claimed a Game Design degree at Full Sail University (Salutatorian) in Winter Park, Fla. He served as a level designer for Pixel Beard Games in Phoenix, Ariz. before coming to Lubbock Christian, where he has served as teaching assistant for game design and as a research assistant. Hackett aided prior LCU Esports head coach Noah Flint by creating the Chap Gaming Club and assisted in additional avenues of the sports program.
